I can’t believe we are into December already! My dad always told my sister and I that the older you get, the quicker time flies…well he was right!
I started decorating for Christmas in the beginning of November, and I’m glad I did. My decor is always changing and this gives me time to constantly tweak things, and add different touches as I get inspired!
I have been on the hunt for a new mirror above my mantel for quite some time…it had to be vintage, be the right shape and of course be a good deal! This past Saturday my husband and I were out doing some Christmas shopping. I have a hard time going to any town and not stopping in at the thrift stores quickly. The first thrift store we stopped at was a dud…nothing…second one I picked up a glass cake stand and four vintage rose plates. Third times a charm..we stopped at the ReStore and there was this beautiful vintage mirror!! And to top it off, their mirrors were all half price!! We left with this beauty for $22!
It’s perfect because it gives a nice contrast against all the white, and fit nicely right between my sconces. (and it’s the perfect backdrop for the gorgeous wreath my daughter made me!)
On the right side of the mantel is my vintage pink enamel pitcher. I spray painted the green bottle brush trees with pink paint. They are all gathered on a vintage platter.
My chandelier candle holder was purchased at an antique fair a few years ago…and my vintage postcards were purchased at my favourite antique store. I display them in antique flower frogs.
The mantel isn’t complete without twinkle lights. I purchased these warm copper wire twinkle lights from Amazon, and use them everywhere! They will be used after Christmas all winter to cozy up the space!
