Transforming Treasures ………..with Paint

I stop into my local Thrift Stores frequently…you never know what treasures await! The thrill of the hunt, so to speak! On one of my latest stops, I spied this tureen. I didn’t care for the flowers on it, but the shape of it was so pretty! And for $2.00, it had to come home with me!

$2.00 Tureen

I have transformed many many things, with paint…. vases, chairs, tables, even my kettle!, so I knew that this beautiful piece would be made even more beautiful with a bit of spray paint! Many people have shook their heads, and are afraid to paint certain things. My motto has always been..”.The world isn’t going to stop turning if you want to paint something!”

I used Rustoleum Chalked spray paint. I have used this particular paint before and loved it! I chose Chiffon Cream.

Rustoleum Spray Paint

It was a nice day, so I took my tureen outside to spray it. It only took 2 coats and it was transformed!

All ready for Paint!

I am so happy with how it looks now! I plopped a baby tears plant in it for now. This could be filled with bath bombs by a tub, cutlery at a wedding shower, rolled up washcloths by a bathroom sink, decorative soaps….it may make an appearance next Easter holding a nest and eggs!

So don’t overlook items because they have a weird design, or a colour that really isn’t your style. Look at the shape! Thank you so much for stopping by! Get transforming those treasures!

All it takes is Paint!

  14. Have you ever considered about adding a
little bit more than just your articles? I mean,
what you say is important and all. But think of if you added some great visuals or videos to give your posts more,
“pop”! Your content is excellent but with images and videos, this site could definitely be one of the most beneficial in its
    niche. Good blog! http://kadenceorlando.com/
