Winter Living Room

For my first post of 2021, I thought I would share a few pictures of my living room. As you know, I change things up, and around constantly. And these pictures will show that! But one thing that is constant, is cozy touches. Winter is all about staying cozy. I am not a winter person! I don’t like being cold! These past few months, we have all been spending way more time in our homes than ever before. (Not by choice) I will show you a few things that I do to create coziness, to help me get through the winter.

We brought the electric fireplace in from the shed, and placed it in front of our faux mantel. I usually just turn on the flames without the heat element…just seeing the flames makes me feel warm. Throw blankets are a good way to create cozy, as are lots of pillows. Pine cones are great to display throughout winter. They add so much texture. I piled some in a bowl, and made a garland for the fireplace.

Nothing cozier than a lounging cat! haha

Baskets are always a good thing! They add so much texture, and you can fill them with extra pillows, blankets, or in my case, kitties!

Cozy kitty

I changed up the mantel and moved some chairs around here. I covered a chair with a chenille bedspread, which adds another layer of coziness. I had this snowflake garland custom made for me for Christmas. It will stay until I change to hearts for Valentines decor! I love romantic style, so adding flowers, whether in a print or vase is a must all year!

Another cozy kitty pic

This is a close up of the garland and the florals. These are faux flowers. Use real greenery with faux flowers ( in this case dried eucalyptus) This always elevates the faux flowers!!

Flowers are always a good idea!

On the other side of the mantel, are some of my oil lamps and candles. Even if you don’t light them, they give the feeling warmth and coziness. One of the candle holders is an old glass lamp from a thrift store, without the shade. And the other is an oil lamp that the glass shade had broke.

Oil lamps and candles are great winter decor!

One thing I did this year for the first time, was plant paperwhites. They gave me some much needed greenery and flowers! I will be planting them every year in January for sure!

Paperwhites, and Coconut

You can see some more paperwhites in the other window. This shows how many pillows I like to pile on the couch, haha. There is a game I like to play on Instagram. I like to see who can find the kitties in my pics. Sometimes, it’s really obvious, other times, a little more difficult. Coconut and Nutmeg are in this pic.

Cozy vibes (2 kitties enjoying the comfort)

I hope that gives you a few ideas for creating cozy spaces in your own home! Rearrange your furniture, pile on the pillows and blankets! Pull out some candles. It doesn’t have to cost a thing, use what you have!

Cozy living room, can you spot the 2 kitties?

As always, I appreciate each and every one of you, and am so thankful you stopped by! P.S. there are two kitties in this last pic <3
