Fall kitchen (with pink touches)

If you have followed me for awhile, you know that I love to add pink touches throughout our home. I also like to change things up and rearrange. Today I am sharing how I added some fall touches to the kitchen, using things I already had.

One way to add warmth for fall is to add copper pieces. Copper also goes well with my pink touches in the kitchen. I began by taking any mint green accessories out of the shelves..(my cake stand, tins and recipe holder etc) I apologize I didn’t take any before pics.. I do things on the spur of the moment. I usually style one shelf at a time. My starting point this time were my pink vintage canisters, with the copper lids. That was a good jumping off point for the rest of the shelves…just sticking with pink, copper and white. I usually style one shelf at a time. After styling the shelves, I always stand back and have a look to make sure the copper is evenly dispersed around the kitchen, and the pink as well.

still on the hunt to complete my set of vintage pink canisters

I added a little picture to the one shelf to add some warmth. On another shelf are a couple pumpkins that I purchased from my friends online shop. My knife block was just looking a little too “cherry wood” colour. It just didn’t fit. So I scrounged in the basement for some paint, and painted it. (do you see what I mean about doing things on the spur of the moment?) I love it lightened up!

The pink of the hydrangeas adds a nice natural element to the fall kitchen

My aunt gifted me my grandma’s dishes a couple years ago, and I pull them out for us to use, every fall. They have leaves and acorns on them and are perfect for this time of year. Each time I use a dish, memories come flooding back of such wonderful times with Grandma and Grandpa. I don’t have any reservations about using good dishes every day. Life is too short not to eat off good dishes, and I know Grandma would approve. I keep some white every day dishes on the shelves for us to use, if we need to warm anything up in the microwave.

my pink painted kettle has held up so well!

One question I get asked about alot is my kettle. I painted it, and it has held up wonderfully!!! I added a vintage print on the counter to add some warmth to this side of the kitchen. I moved my thrift store pitcher, with my pink handled cutlery, from the table to the counter, to add a little more pink. And I moved the little welcome pumpkins from the table, to the shelf with the picture.

Nothing ever stays in one place very long around here! No matter what your favourite colour is, you can still add seasonal touches! The main thing is to decorate for you and your family, and surround yourself with items that mean something to you. I hope you are all doing well, and are able to enjoy the changing season! Thank you so much for stopping by, and following along. I appreciate each one of you!
