Everyone wants their front door to be welcoming. It’s fun to change up the wreaths for each season. For something a little different, I decided to plant up these flat baskets I had, and hang them on my doors. I filled these door baskets last fall with dried hydrangeas, and I thought I would fill them with flowers for Spring/Summer!

You can find these types of baskets at any home store/decor store…I even have a set of tin ones! (I like to keep my options open) Let me show you how easy it is to plant them up!

I save my pots that my flowers come in from the garden centre. Some of them are quite flexible, and these are the ones that are perfect for this because they can “squish” in the basket.

I line it first with a clear plastic storage bag and then mold the plant pots in next. Fill with potting soil and plant your flowers!

I planted impatiens because my doors are mostly in the shade.

I then covered the soil with moss from the dollar store. It covered any pot edges that were showing, and just gives it a nice finished look. (and helps them from drying out too quickly.)

That’s it! Happy Planting!
Another great idea. Looks lovely Tracey!
Thank you Marg 💗
This type of impatiens used to be my favorite flower for planting and they always did so well for me. The last few years I haven’t seen them in our garden centers and flower shops. Last year I asked and they said this variety was no longer available (at least in the states) because of some type of disease they had.
They didn’t have these for awhile either!!! They are bringing them back! I love the double impatiens, but they are really hard to find 🌸
Oh my word!! How absolutely gorgeous is that. I’ll be there’s not a magazine anywhere that shows a more beautiful inviting porch. !! I also especially like the way to step by step show the directions that lead to such beautiful results. I NEED those directions. Obviously your gifts don’t come from your mom’s side. Ha ha!!! Love it!!! Mom. xoxoxox
Spoken like a true Mom 💗💗 thank you
This is so cute!!! I love the basket that you used and love how perfect it looks on your door!!
Thank you Emily! That means the world coming from such a creative girl!!
