Summer Porch 2020

Now that the hydrangeas are blooming, I thought I would share my summer porch with you. A few things stay the same..(the daybed, and porch swing)..but the linens and the furniture placement always change..haha

Nutmeg is the welcome kitty
Porch Daybed

I used a vintage chenille bedspread for the daybed this year. I have a hard time passing up chenille…this one has a few holes, so its perfect for the porch! You can read how I get my daybed ready for the season here.

The last couple of years I have placed my vintage wicker chairs/rockers in a grouping of 4, creating a cozy conversation spot. The table in the middle is from a yard sale that I painted. I have my breakfast out here when the weather cooperates. I love how the hydrangeas make it private….even though our nearest neighbours are acres away.

the little footstool was my grandmas that I covered with chenille

To make the porch even more romantic, I commissioned my niece to sew me some new chair cushions with ruffles. I gave her a stack of linen sheets that I had collected from various thrift stores, and antique malls, and an eyelet bedspread for the porch swing. I just love them!!!

my cushion cover was sewn from an eyelet bedspread!

We were refreshing the basement laundry area and this old rug was down there. Once I pulled it out on the porch, I decided to keep it under the swing! ( and the kitties love to lounge on it) I added vintage prints on the walls as well, and feel they really make the porch cozy.

This pic was taken before the cushions were sewn, but it shows how I decided to hang vintage prints on the porch this year!
This pic shows the vintage prints on this side of the porch where the daybed is. (Can you spot Nutmeg?) To cut some of the sweetness of the wicker and ruffles, I added an old stump for an end table.
Summer days……..

We love our time spent out here. Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope this gives you a few ideas for your outside space!
